Who are we?

We are Hazel and John and we have been together for 6 years, we actually met online! John is a born and bred Devonian boy who has always lived in Devon.

I was born in Luton, lived in a place called Watford most of my life, I lived 2 years in France and a few other places in the UK.

I eventually moved to Devon in 2012, after my parents moved here while i was away working a seasonal job.

John and i have a fairly extensive destination bucket list between us (basically most of the world) and intend on visiting them at least once in our lifetime.

While being together we have been to Paris, Rome, Thailand and Turkey, as well as many places in the UK too.

We both absolutely loved Rome although we were expecting to hear more Italians, but still a great trip. 

Paris on the other hand was…well…. a bit over-hyped in our opinion, yes the Eiffel tower was great and the boat ride on the river Sienne but that was about it really.

Then we have one of our favorite place that we have been to many many times, Turkey.

Before lock down John and i visited a few different parts of Turkey, we got the point where we were going at least twice a year since 2016.

Our most recent vacation was to a place called Chon Buri in the beautiful land of smiles, Thailand.

One thing we kept noticing, that every holiday we were on at the time, all our stresses, worries, aches and pains always disappeared and we could could relax and enjoy ourselves and enjoy each other.

Now if your like us you have probably seen hundreds if not thousands of those totally “real fake-cactions” with those stunning backdrops and super tanned and toned beauties, yeah well that’s what were looking for but for the real people.

Neither of us are tanned or toned (yet) but we do want the life of being able to be in those places and see all the things the world has to offer, that is why we are here starting our blog. Our travel blog on our Journey to freedom.

Our Journey to Freedom to us means that we will be free to do what we went when we want, We will have the freedom to be free.

Both of us want to have to wait to be told if we can have that time off for the holiday we booked, and we won’t have to tell our families we can’t meet up with them because we can’t get that day off.

Also we won’t be worrying if were going to be a little bit late because the bus didn’t turn up or because the car broke down.

We will however, be grateful that we can loose all those worries and stresses.

How are we going to do it?

Starting with selling as much as we can from our flat, learning and understating new opportunities online, we have our you-tube channel and other social media accounts.
